1906 Gardener and Chef Experience: Thursdays, September 3, 10, 17 & 24, 11:30AM, Longwood Gardens, $150, Step into the garden with a chef and gardener as your guides, beginning with a walk through Longwood’s Ornamental Kitchen Garden before gathering around the 1906 Seasonal Table for a five-course tasting menu featuring ingredients harvested just steps away. This is a rain-or-shine experience, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Labor Day Weekend at the Vineyard: Friday, September 4–Monday, September 7, times vary, Penns Woods Winery, Enjoy four days of live music on the lawn, food trucks, and beautiful vineyard views throughout Labor Day weekend. Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, and settle in for a relaxing long weekend outdoors.

Guided Mansion Tour at Nemours Estate: Saturdays, September 5, 12, 19 & 26, 9:15–10:30AM, Nemours Estate, $28, Enjoy a guide-led tour of the magnificent Nemours Estate Mansion and learn more about its history, architecture, and collections. Tours are limited to 12 guests; please arrive by 9:15AM for the shuttle to the Mansion.

Downtown Oxford 12th Annual Car Show: Saturday, September 5, 4–8PM, 13 S. Third Street, Oxford, PA, FREE, Join Oxford Main Street for its 12th Annual Motorcycle, Truck and Car Show, featuring an impressive collection of antique automobiles and plenty of fun for the whole family. Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss this annual celebration of classic vehicles.

West Chester Comedy Festival: Thursday, September 10–Saturday, September 12, times vary, Downtown West Chester, PA, Get ready for three nights of stand-up, variety, storytelling, and more as dozens of comedians from around the country take over venues throughout downtown West Chester.

5th Annual Glass Pumpkin Festival: Friday, September 11–Sunday, September 13, 9AM–6PM, WGK Glass Art, 1255 Newark Road, Toughkenamon, PA, $5, Spend three days celebrating glass art, music, food, wine, and local makers at WGK Glass Art’s annual Glass Pumpkin Festival. Enjoy glassblowing and torchwork demonstrations, artisan vendors, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and the chance to make your own glass pumpkin.

Kennett Square Mushroom Festival: Saturday, September 12–Sunday, September 13, times vary, Downtown Kennett Square, PA, Celebrate the Mushroom Capital of the World with mushroom-inspired food, local craft vendors, shopping, restaurants, and plenty of opportunities to learn about the area’s rich mushroom-growing tradition.

Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Show: Saturday, September 12–Sunday, September 13, times vary, Longwood Gardens, Included with Gardens Admission, Brilliant dahlia blooms will fill Longwood Gardens’ Ballroom for this annual competitive show presented by the Greater Philadelphia Dahlia Society. Explore an incredible variety of colors, forms, and sizes while celebrating one of late summer’s most spectacular flowers.

Girls in Aviation Day: Saturday, September 19, 10AM–2PM, American Helicopter Museum, $15 per person, free for members, Discover the exciting possibilities of aviation and aerospace engineering through hands-on STEM activities, aircraft displays, and conversations with professionals in the industry. This inspiring event is designed to introduce and empower the next generation of aviators.

The Mini Makers Market: Saturday, September 19, 12–2PM, Rooted in New London, Come support some of our favorite young entrepreneurs as kids ages 6–16 sell the creations they’ve spent their summer making. It’s a one-of-a-kind afternoon full of creativity, community, and plenty of reasons to be impressed by what kids can do. Additional parking is available at Peak Physical Fitness and New London Methodist Church.

Shakespeare in the Gardens: Saturday, September 19, 2–5PM, 3120 Barley Mill Road, Hockessin, DE, $25–$35, Wander the gardens before settling in for a hilarious, rapid-fire performance of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised) (again), covering all 36 plays in under 100 minutes. Expect physical comedy, pop-culture references, audience interaction, and an afternoon of garden discovery.

45th Annual Chester County Restaurant Festival: Sunday, September 20, 12–5:30PM, N. Church Street, West Chester, PA, Enjoy a full afternoon of local food, artisans, entertainment, and live music as restaurants and food vendors from Chester County and beyond take over downtown West Chester. A beer and wine garden will also be available on N. Church Street.

Rooted in Scent Air Freshener Workshop: Sunday, September 20, 12–2PM, Rooted in Kennett, Create your own custom, non-toxic air fresheners with T-Skincare while soaking up the scents of the season. Hidden Gems: Wine Tasting with The Wine Stellar: Wednesday, September 23, 6–8PM, Casa Carmen Farm & Winery, $55 per person, Take a discovery-driven journey through lesser-known wine regions including Greece, Croatia, and Georgia, guided by certified wine expert Kelly Daniels. The tasting includes a paired tapas plate and offers a fun, approachable way to explore unfamiliar grapes and regions.

An Afternoon with Broadway & Park: Friday, September 25, 4–6PM, Rooted on Main, Create your own custom button pin with local artist Broadway & Park using one of her designs or a favorite photo, then browse a seasonal selection of her stationery. Come make something uniquely yours and enjoy an afternoon with one of our favorite local artists.

Talk, Q&A and Book Signing with Local Author Christie Purifoy: Saturday, September 26, 11AM, Rooted in Kennett, Meet the writer, gardener, and placemaker behind the gardens at Maplehurst as Christie Purifoy shares stories from her journey and the experiences that shaped her work. She’ll also answer gardening questions, offer suggestions for fall planting, and sign copies of her books.

Fall Festival & Cow Bingo: Saturday, September 26, 12–4PM, Canine Partners for Life, 334 Faggs Manor Road, Cochranville, PA, FREE, Spend the afternoon at Canine Partners for Life’s Fall Festival with puppy kisses, service dog demonstrations, local vendors, food trucks, and a tour of the kennel. Stick around for Cow Bingo, where one lucky participant could win $5,000! Tickets for Cow Bingo are $10.

Story & Craft Time: Mondays at 10:00 AM, Christian Life Center, All kids and parents are invited to join us every Monday in the Yellow Mug Cafe for story time. We ask that parents accompany their kids for these events. No registration required

Track & Build Hot Wheels: Tuesdays at 10:00 AM, Kennett Square Library, Come build and race using our Hot Wheels tracks and cars during our Start Your Engines! Morning Sessions, in the Children's Area.

Walking Book Club: Tuesdays in March, 10:00-11:00 AM, Strollers and families welcome.Bundle up, grab an audiobook, and walk with friends while listening to your favorite library books! Check them out at Kennett Library, where we start, and walk with us in town. We end our walks at Mary Pat's Provisions, where you will receive 50 cents off a beverage. Registration required for beverage coupon. Families with strollers or wheelchairs are welcome! Every Tuesday morning this month 10-11am.
